At the beginning of the lunar year, devotees offer prayers to Tai Sui Xing Jun for protection and blessings. As the year draws to a close, it is customary to return and express gratitude for the guidance and protection received.
Known as Xie Tai Sui (谢太岁), this traditional Taoist observance is an opportunity to reflect on the passing year, give thanks and seek continued peace and harmony.
Devotees who participated in Bai Tai Sui earlier in the year are especially encouraged to return and complete their annual observance with thanksgiving prayers.
Traditionally, Xie Tai Sui prayers begin on the 15th day of the 10th lunar month and conclude before the Winter Solstice (Dong Zhi).
In 2026, devotees may offer their thanksgiving prayers from 23 November to 21 December 2026, expressing gratitude to the Taisui for the blessings and protection received throughout the year.
